Douglas Stanley was born in 1917 in Hammersmith, London. His mother’s maiden name was Gifford. He married Violet E Fitzhugh in the third quarter of 1942 in Northampton, and they had a child, Andre who was born in 1943, also in Northampton.

Douglas was killed in Action on January 2, 1945. He was 22 years old. He rests at the Canadian War Cemetery in Villanova, Plot 1-B-10
